Zilmere AFL Club

IMG_2635BE Collective were commissioned by reddog architects to provide hydraulic and structural consultancy services for the renovation of the Zillmere Eagles AFL club in North Brisbane. The project consisted of the renewal of existing facilities and included:

  • Two new external public entries with stairs and ramps
  • New amenities – bathroom and cleaners area
  • New Canteen/Bar alterations
  • Refurbishment of existing windows and doors
  • New AFLQ fit out

Most of the original building was retained with a small portion of the north eastern corner being demolished to create an impressive new entry. The demolition took out some key structural members, which were cleverly replaced with a raked column and doubling up of steel beams to make an architectural statement. Site inspections helped BE Collective alleviate some of the uncertainty that comes with working with an existing structure that has no construction documentation and enabled us to put forward the most cost efficient solution to the client.
